That sounds like a great starting point. Maybe it is possible to work
from the following definitions:

http://www.techterms.com/definition/rawdata
"Raw data is unprocessed computer data. This information may be stored
in a file, or may just be a collection of numbers and characters
stored on somewhere in the computer's hard disk. For example,
information entered into a database is often called raw data. The data
can either be entered by a user or generated by the computer itself.
Because it has not been processed by the computer in any way, it is
considered to be "raw data.""

Comment: "unprocessed in any way" is too harsh. Often, a minimal
amount of processing can take place e.g. normalization of formatting
when reading data into a data base.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Data
"Raw data is a relative term; data processing commonly occurs by
stages, and the "processed data" from one stage may be considered the
"raw data" of the next."

Comment: Takes into account the temporal aspects of data creation.

http://sv.wikipedia.org/wiki/R%C3%A5data
"Raw data is data collected from a source without having been
processed or modified. It can be raw data from a camera sensor or
unprocessed statistical data used for further analysis." (my
translation)

Peter
