I say yes.  Always helps.  I'll  have a poke around my files and see

These days, with people being MUCH slower to pay than they were a year  
ago, I usually ask for a 1/3 up front to start work and the rest on  
completion on smaller projects (such as this) and split into 1/3s with  
some sort of milestone in the middle for the half way payment for  
larger projects.
