I can understand the annoyance of the speaker who felt they were
pushed to the end by non-topical material, it is a shame.

Last year, I invited Hugh along to OKCon and he demurred, and said
later that the programme featured too many "usual suspects" and
wouldn't head outside of he collective comfort zone. This year, he
thought he would come along just up til his Open Money presentation
and then scarper, but stayed for the whole thing and gave enthusiastic
positive feedback about the eclectic topic mix.

Going back to WSFII in 2005 we've tried to bring people from quite
different domains, who wouldn't ordinarily meet or mix; the
interesting stuff being in the space where topics and communities
meet. Perhaps this year the distance between the panel sessions was
rather too wide. We can hope that it illustrates how many different
people, with different concerns, Open Knowledge is starting to
affect...
