Both of those bullets are certainly true but I would consider them to be secondary factors. The hard work of having a baby was certainly not done by me!
The main point is that the role of Foundation Coordinator has grown significantly since I first interviewed for it last year. OKF has grown massively, the field has grown and the job has developed. The scope for coordination and keeping on top of the multitude of OKF projects and people means that it really needs to be a full time gig as much as is possible [1].
If I didn't happen to be part of the UK's first ever Green council administration I would shift things to make the time to do the OKF gig as close to full-time as possible. But I've got a one-time opportunity to run a city... which I just can't pass up on.
So I feel it's best for all of us if someone with more time is brought in. I aim to stick around as much as possible, provide continuity and also administer some of the projects like LOD2 and ePSIplatform where I have a lot of embedded knowledge.
Hope that explains.
All the best,
Jason
[1] So yes perhaps the job description has changed in that the scale of the duties has grown. I also sense this position has a role in pastoral care/mentoring for our often young team when faced with challenges. They really are a great crew.
