Dear Board,

I am pleased to introduce to you Franka Vaughan, who has joined us as
Acting Executive Assistant to cover Naomi's role as she goes off on
maternity leave (from the 18th July). She and Naomi are in full handover
mode and Franka will join the team at the Summit in 2 weeks. Please note
that Franka is being set up with the same permissions as Naomi - that is,
access to my emails, Board papers, and so on.

Before joining OKI, Franka volunteered for Amnesty International
<https://www.amnesty.org/en/> and Al-Khair Foundation <http://alkhair.org/>
in both administrative and research capacities. She also worked as a
Governance / Political Analyst with Penplusbytes
<http://www.penplusbytes.org/>, a non-profit organisation committed to
enhancing governance by deepening citizens' participation through ICT in
Ghana, where she led various research works and assisted with projects
leading to insights, policy recommendations and evidence to drive effective
advocacy.

Franka is a Mo Ibrahim Foundation <http://mo.ibrahim.foundation/> (MIF)
scholar at the University of Birmingham, UK with a Master’s degree in
International Development (Governance and Statebuilding). As part of her
MSc. programme, Franka worked with MIF’s Research Department in London as a
Research Assistant where she had the opportunity to work on the Ibrahim
Index of African Governance and interned with the Governance and Social
Development Resource Centre <http://www.gsdrc.org/> in Birmingham.

As an avid supporter of the use of sports as a tool for the empowerment of
young people, Franka looks for avenues to volunteer for International
Inspiration <http://www.internationalinspiration.org/>.

I'm very glad Franka has decided to join OKI and look forward to working
with her!
