Wow, I'd not heard of that project before. A persistent browser credential is certainly interesting in the context of annotation across the web. Then again, this project launched in 2010 and never really took off, so who's to know what people are willing to login to:

BrowserID is a natural evolution, I suppose. Perhaps people are more ready to give it a try in 2012.
