PSI Sectorial Meeting: A round table with key transport data stakeholders*

The PSI Sectorial Workshop “Transport Data – fuelling future mobility
and smart cities” will be held on Monday 17 September 2012, in Helsinki,
pulling together around 20 key stakeholders from across Europe,
including national and European policy makers, public sector
dataholders, industry representatives and the emerging open transport
data re-user community. We would start in the afternoon at 13.00,
allowing people to arrive in the morning, and finish around 17.30,
obviously inviting you to stay on for dinner.

The basic aim of the Workshop is to:

- bring in dialogue the EC with national Open Data policy makers and
stakeholders.
- bring new emerging re-users to the table as well as existing players.
- to get on board (semi) public sector board transport data holders,
demonstrating the richness of sources and the impact Open Data may have
on their organisations and subsequent value chain.
- identify the transport data specific issues, that are hampering the
free flow of the Open Data across Europe, these are data specific and
market specific.

The Workshop, is really a “Work Shop”: after a 30 minutes session of 3
short presentations (representing public data holders, re-users and
policy makers), we will split up in 4 small working groups. Each working
group will have a specific mission to be solved and to be reported upon
in the last session of the day. On the fly, we will try to draw up
the */Transport Data Helsinki Declaration/*, a 1 pager, holding
recommendations on data re-use policy and practice, which will be widely
distributed and also be fed into the relevant sessions of the OKF
Festival in the days to come.
