Both git and mercurial are aptly named. Both leave a great deal to be
desired in terms of their quality of user interface design,
documentation and overall software engineering (much like svn, cvs and
rcs all of which I've used and cursed). It seems that people who make
version control systems try to make them hard to use and apt to fail
in dangerous ways until you've learned how to use them properly.
Distributed VCS is fun though.
