Dear Colleagues:
The University of Amsterdam's Institute for Information Law will be holding
its second annual Summer Course on Privacy Law and Policy from July 7-11,
2014. The course will focus on privacy law and policy related to the
Internet, electronic communications and ***online and social media***. A
faculty of leading experts from the EU and the US will explore the recent
developments and broader trends in this rapidly changing field, and will
explain how businesses, governments and others can achieve their goals
within it. Jacob Kohnstamm, chairman of the Dutch Data Protection
Authority, will provide a keynote address.
The course is aimed at private sector lawyers, government officials, NGO
staff, academics, PhD students and others who work in the areas of privacy
and data protection law. The course will be held in a historic canal house
and will employ a seminar format that allows a deeper examination of the
subject than is possible at most professional conferences. Enrollment is
limited to 25 participants. Additional information--including a list of
