[od-discuss] broader community notice in license approval/OD update process (was Re: Nominate Aaron Wolf for Open Definition Advisory Council membership)

Hi Herb,

Jumping in here with apologies for the delay in response from (anyone from)
the central organisation. As you know Laura has moved on from her position
with Open Knowledge, so your email temporarily fell into a small void.

However, if it's not too late, I would suggest sending the note to the
following lists:

https://lists.okfn.org/mailman/listinfo/od-discuss (topic-specific)
https://lists.okfn.org/mailman/listinfo/okfn-discuss (general list for all
of Open Knowledge community / the "hey everybody"-list)

Also, as Laura mentioned, we also have two non-public lists for
coordinators of Local Groups and Working Groups respectively. These are for
members-only, but the community managers (of which I am one) are happy to
relay important messages, and you (and others) are welcome to send forward
such notices when you see a need to reach all the far corners of the
community. To do so please use the local at okfn.org alias.

Lastly, we are experimenting with an online forum in order to lighten the
load on people's inboxes, and even if this forum hasn't really officially
been implemented as a formal supplement to the lists (and we're not sure it
will, hence the experimenting) it's still a good place to catch peoples
attention:

http://discuss.okfn.org/

I realize how confusing it must be to try to keep an overview of all these
channels, apologies for that as well. As a way to hopefully make it a
little easier, I'll be moving the above instructions onto a wiki-page, so
that going forward there will at least be a central (and hopefully
continually updated) place to consult whenever anyone across the community
needs to make an announcement beyond their own part of the network.

Hope this is useful,

-Christian
