Over the next year, the U.S. Department of Energy will conduct four
contests, which will award over $100,000 in total prizes for the best
ideas, apps, and visualizations that use energy data to help address some
of America's biggest challenges.

>From FAQ:

Do I retain intellectual property ownership?

No. Contest #1 is all about sharing and discussing good ideas, with the
goal of others using those ideas to create new things. Therefore, ideas
submitted in Contest #1 must be released to the public under a Creative
Commons Attribution 3.0 Unported
