Many thanks for responding to the recent European Commission
questionnaire on e-Science Digital Repositories in Europe as part of the
e-SciDR study. We received many very valuable an interesting replies to
this consultation. The results of the study will be available by the
end September.

We appreciate your interest in the repositories issue, and invite you to
contribute further to the study by attending a high-level* workshop on
the agenda for driving forward the establishment of a European
e-Infrastructure for e-Science digital repositories* on 4th September
2007 in Lisbon, at the Instituto dos Arquivos Nacionais / Torre do Tombo.

Participation represents an opportunity to make a significant
contribution to setting the forthcoming digital repositories agenda in
Europe and help identify priorities for this element of FP7. The
workshop will be the opportunity for you to comment upon the draft
findings and recommendations from the study, including the consultation
questionnaire, and to indicate any adjustments or additions you would
like to see. Ahead of the workshop we will send participants a concise
information pack, including summary findings and recommendations and
other materials. The draft meeting agenda and short overview of the
study are attached here.

We are delighted that Herbert Van de Sompel, from the Los Alamos
National Laboratory, and whose projects include OAI-PMH, OAI-ORE and the
aDORe repository, will be a keynote speaker at the workshop.

If you can come, and/or would like to suggest a colleague, please email
workshop at e-scidr.eu <mailto:workshop at e-scidr.eu>. We will forward hotel
information (we have negotiated special hotel rates) and other practical
information. A draft agenda for the day is attached and a brief outline
of the e-SciDR study.

With kind regards

Philip Lord
