dear all,
One can never be on enough mailing lists, I find. Yet another:
http://lists.okfn.org/mailman/listinfo/okfn-governance
What is this new mailing list for? It is intended to focus what has been
a fairly high-volume conversation in the coord group list about how OKF
projects are managed, how the Foundation is managed, etc.
The OKF Coordination Group re-started this summer, made up of
representatives from every project and working group that forms part of
the Open Knowledge Foundation.
The role of the coord group is still uncertain. Right now, it is
essentially an incubation committee for new projects and working groups,
and a place for WG and project leaders to compare notes and seek mutual
support.
The coord group could also be a way for the OKF Board to distribute some
of the power it inadvertently accumulated during the quiet years. The
last year has been terrifically busy, and most people are still catching
up with themselves.)
http://wiki.okfn.org/wg/coord - more details on who is involved, how to
join list, etc.
But i was talking about this new governance list. It's a way to take the
meta-talk off coord, and also take the meta-talk off the (private) board
list and put it all in one place, with open archives. Everyone is
welcome, if they have the appetite for it, to join the governance list.
Come and be critical there, i incite and defy you.
love,
jo
