[okfn-discuss] Directory of OKFners and CKAN support in Costa Rica

If the goal is an official directory, then it sounds like something the
OKFn would need to be the one putting together, for use between registered
Ambassadors and other OKFn staff...

But if the idea is a more dynamic advocacy directory or network, then
perhaps a lightweight social network platform dedicated to open access /
open knowledge advocates would be the way to go. Such a thing would
certainly be useful!

I've long wondered why Creative Commons doesn't have something like that
set up, because with the right tools for networking and focused
collaboration, all kinds of incredible things could be possible for a
self-organizing community. Opt-in and privacy problems would be solved in
the same way they're solved in a larger social network:
privacy responsibility would lie with the individual.

Maybe such a platform already exists and we could just use it more
consciously. Maybe we all just need to start self-identifying on github,
or some such.
