[okfn-discuss] Regional events vs. global ones (it was: Updates from Korea)

One thought that's occurred to me is to do a global event like a kind of
distributed, synchronized festival. People could link up (Skype, g+, etc)
over the course of a particular weekend, and collaborate, and even do
sessions or presentations; but everyone (or most) could network in from
where they were.
It's not the same as having everyone in the same place, but it obviously
costs a fraction, and could still reinforce esprit de corps as well as
knowledge building.
