Morning all,
The Software Sustainability Institute is running a a one-day workshop
for researchers on the subject of Intellectual Property (IP),
copyright, licensing and commercialisation. This will take place on 11
December 2014 in Oxford. The event is free to attend (registration
required).

Researchers often wonder, or simply don't know, about IP issues
related to their work. In particular those who work with software and
data often have a host of questions, but lack the right people to ask.
The IPCLC workshop brings together researchers and other research
professionals and gets them up to speed on all aspects of IP. This
will provide researchers with the knowledge needed to make decisions
about the digital asset, and help them make contacts with the right
people if they want to ask for further advice.
We have several key registrations from university staff with the
responsibility for IP and knowledge transfer at their institutions,
and we highly encourage more of these people to attend. Commercial
organisations who are interested in working with researchers on
start-ups will also be attending.
Come to IPCLC and get your voice heard and your questions answered!

(Disclosure: I work part time for SSI)
Thanks,
Iain
