Dear Niels,
Welcome, again, to the Open Knowledge Foundation! Here are a couple of
introductory measures for your appointment as a Local Initiative. We'll
be introducing you round to the other people joining you in Round 7 of
Local Groups induction later on today, and introducing you round to the
rest of the community, as well as sharing details for your country
website and mailing list. For now though, we have a couple of documents
to share with you.
We'd like to make it as easy as possible for you all to share what
you're working on with each other, to strengthen your connections and to
encourage collaborations across borders. The most obvious way is to keep
your country website updated with projects and recent events - so,
rather than emailing updates on the local-coords list (you'll be added
to this later) - put any news and updates as a blog post or a project
update, and send the link round to everyone! That will avoid the
information being lost in people's inboxes :-)
If you have any questions about this, let us know! We'd like to be
flexible and responsive to your queries.
We have three tasks for you:
1. We'd like you to sign a Code of Conduct, outlining your
responsibilities as a Local Initiative, to make sure that we are all on
the same page.
Your Code of Conduct [link]
Please sign and return your Code of Conduct by MONDAY OCTOBER 14TH. (Of
course, please feel free to share this document with others in your
group - at the moment it's just shared with your email address)
2. Send us a short biography and photo within 2 weeks - either of just
you, or the group together - whichever you feel most comfortable with!
More details on what we'll do with this are in this document,
Documenting your Ambassadorship [1]
[1]
3. Fill out the workplan linked in the document above [1] - a member of
the community and the Local Groups team will go through this with you.
If for some reason you will have problems getting to these tasks within
the specified time frame, don't worry, just let us know! We'd love to
update the website with more information on you all ASAP, but we
completely understand that you are all very busy.
As always, any questions, just ping Neal, Christian and I on
local at okfn.org.
Thanks!
Zara
