Hi guys,

finally I can see a great reason why I was always following this
list without contributing...

I'd like to invite the OKFN into a vibrant group and discussion
going on about the Coalition of the Willing.

Please check out http://www.cotw.cc.

If you have some time, watch the film first, it sets you
in the right framing to grok the context.

A lot of discussion is circling now around interoperability and
reusability of data. One of the main pillars of the COTW movement
is a Green Knowledge Trust, which should be documenting knowledge
accessible to everybody on this planet.

One of the main issues that bubbled up has been that many people have
created and documented valuable information, notably
http://www.appropedia.org about
appropriate technologies as just an example.

Instead of centralizing all data, ideas have been postulated about
decentralization of data, which also allow forks, mesh ups, cultural
customizations,
language translations, etc. of technology
(as an example picture renewable energy devices for those
most in need). Interoperability of wikis is a most hot topic right now.

I believe you guys could provide tremendous advice and impact
on these discussions.

Feel free to drop in into any of the channels documented on the wiki page.

I hope you find this invitation useful and appropriate.
We'd love to get some feedback.

Best wishes
fabio
