[okfn-help] Updating OKFn wiki

Hi,

I've just seen too much accounts being created on our wiki [1] and I
went to compare OKFn wiki version with Wikimedia Brasil version, a
wiki maintained by Wikimedia Foundation. OKFn is 1.16.5 and Wikimedia
Brasil 1.19wmf1 (r112130). We can see from [2] OKFn MediaWiki also
doesn't have any extension against spam.

I believe we should update the wiki version to at least 1.18.1
<http://www.mediawiki.org/wiki/Download> and install some of these
extensions for preventing spam. I think this'll reduce the work for
blocking spammers and deleting spam pages.

I have updated MediaWiki a few times (here <http://wiki.stoa.usp.br>),
so I offer my help. I am also goign to make some suggestions to our
wiki to become multilanguage, but that's another email. How can we do
this upgrade?
