*Apps4Gaps <http://www.apps4gaps.ie> Challenges you to Create Apps Using
Public Data in an Island of Ireland Competition*

Individuals and teams of two or three participants can enter in one of two
ways, either by submitting an idea for an app as a concept entry or by
creating an app and submitting a working app using data from Census 2011.
There is a student category and an open category.

The aim is to develop ideas and create applications (apps) that will
provide innovative and fresh ways of exploiting the Open Data available
from the 2011 Census, in areas such as transport, housing and planning.

The* closing date to register as a competition entrant is January 31st* and
the closing date for concept entry or a working app entry is April 11th.

*STUDENT CATEGORY*
This category is open to teams of two to three people who are attending, or
are registered in, a primary school, a secondary school or a third level
college located on the island of Ireland and who reside legally on the
island of Ireland. Teams can enter the competition through a submission of
a registration form signed by a teacher, lecturer or course
advisor/instructor from the school or college that they are attending.

*OPEN CATEGORY*
This category is open to individuals or organisations that reside legally
or are registered on the island of Ireland. Teams of up to three people
with a designated leader are eligible to submit apps.

Participation of multiple teams from the same organization is allowed.
However an individual can only participate in the competition through one
team submtting one entry.

Completed projects can be submitted in one of two groups:
*Concept entry:* Proposal of ideas for theoretical software applications
(“apps”)
*Working app:* Submission of a fully developed app
