Are you a developer, coder or data activist? Do you relish the challenge of
getting to grips with public datasets and creating applications, services
and insight for the benefit of all?
Following on from the success of Routes to the Future Innovation
Challenge<http://futureeverything.org/ongoing-projects/open-data-cities-datagm/innovation-challenge/>where
80 creative coders came together for 48 hours to build applications
from Transport from Greater Manchester's data; FutureEverything as part of
the groundbreaking Greater Manchester Data Synchronisation Programme
(GMDSP)<http://futureeverything.org/ongoing-projects/greater-manchester-data-synchronisation-project/>brings
you another weekend of code.
GMDSP supports public bodies to release data as open data by placing coders
(Code Fellows) within their organisations to help identify, transform and
release it as linked open data. The programme aims to link together the
disparate data that exists across Greater Manchester's public bodies.
A prize fund of £3,500 to be split between the best ideas and creations
developed around identified challenges that public bodies face.
The 24 hour event kicks off at 4pm Saturday 29th March at TechHub
Manchester<http://manchester.techhub.com/>.
Participants can be individuals or teams and everyone will be provided with
a desk, refreshments, food and wifi.
Prospective Coding Challenge participants are also invited to join us at
the GMDSP Data Dive<http://opendatamanchester.org.uk/2014/02/28/open-data-manchester-march-edition-gmdsp-data-dive/>
