[okfn-labs] Creating a PyBossa App it is really simple!

Dear all,

Today I'm really happy to announce, that we think that we have reduce the
complexity of creating an application in PyBossa thanks to a new feature
that will allow you to create it with only a few clicks, giving you the
following options as templates for your application:

   - Image Pattern Recognition (you will be re-using the Flickr Person
   Finder application)
   - Geo-coding (you will be re-using the Urban Parks application)
   - PDF Transcription (you will be re-using the PDF transcription app)

Therefore, creating an application right now is like this:

   1. Sign up in CrowdCrafting.org (you can use your Twitter, Facebook or
   Google account)
   2. Click in the Create link (check the top bar menu!)
   3. Fill in the form: name of the application, slug, a description, an
icon (if you want) and click save.
   4. Now, time to choose: imagine that you want to create an image pattern
recognition app, so click in Edit the Task Presenter and choose the Image
Pattern Recognition template. Save it! (you can modify it a little bit at
this point if you want, hehe)
   5. Now time to upload some tasks. As you have chosen the image pattern
recognition template, you can re-use also the Image Pattern Recognition
task template directly available from the Import Tasks section. When you
click in the Import Tasks section, you will have 4 options to choose from,
pick the image pattern recognition one (or use your own CSV file if you
want). Import them and you are done!
   6. Your app is now fully working!!!

Obviously if you repeat these steps exactly as I've written them, you will
be creating an exact copy of Flickr Person Finder (or any of the other
applications) but the goal is that you can actually learn how you can
create your application, adapt it by re-using some of the code and task
templates so you don't have to do everything from scratch.

The task templates are Google Doc Spreadsheets publicly available, so
anyone can make a copy of them, modify the local copy and use it for your
own application.

The documentation<http://docs.pybossa.com/en/latest/user/overview.html#importing-the-tasks-via-the-built-in-csv-task-creator>has
been updated accordingly, and remember that you can also create your
application locally in your computer!

Best regards,

Daniel
