[okfn-za] Cape Town budget for dummies

Hi Rufus

Sincere apologies for the slow reply, things have been a bit manic.

I've put together a chart with some of the most useful information in the
budget broken down into different levels and indicating which table each
bit of information is from (attached). I've also shown this in text at the
end of this email.

Looking at the table you shared, there might be value in using the budget
information for particular departments (referred to as *Votes *in the
budget). For instance, Table 69 shows revenue and expenditure for the
Safety & Security directorate. In that case, the information could perhaps
be entered like this:

Item: employee-related costs

Category: operating budget

Subcategory: expenditure by type
Department: safety & security

Year: 2013/14

Amount: 1254457

This information should be entered for each 14 departments/'votes'. Could
this work?

Best
Fritz
