[Open-access] How do you evaluate Open Access Journals?

Hi Ivan,

Instead of inserting a journal list, maybe you could provide in the webpage
a link to an open access journals directory which is updated regularly, I
suggest http://doaj.org

DOAJ accepts journals which comply with its Principles of Transparency and
Best Practice in Scholarly Publishing <http://doaj.org/bestpractice>.

There is the Bealls list of predatory journals
<http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Predatory_open_access_publishing>.

APC´s <http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Article_processing_charge> (article
processing charges) are charged by 63% of journals in DOAJ, traditional
journal publishers charge higher fees to publish your article in open
access, than born open access journals. Some offer a discount for certain
countries (waivers)

IF is not recommended for research evaluation (see DORA Declaration
<http://am.ascb.org/dora/>)

Maybe Emanuil refers to SPARC How Open Is It?
<http://www.sparc.arl.org/resource/howopenisit>

Best, Dominique
