The Library Linked Data W3C Incubator Group just started up a couple
months ago. So far the meetings have largely been oriented around
getting the working group members acquainted, and starting to document
some use cases for linked data in libraries [1]. More details about
the group can be found in the incubator group charter [2]. It's my
understanding that the incubator group will last 1 year, and after
that they'll evaluate whether there is more work to be done in the
area.

We've seen some major national libraries releasing bibliographic
linked data (Sweden, Germany, Hungary, US) and there is a desire to
see if we can come up with some best practices to enable
interoperability. It's also important that the various parties talk to
each other, and coordinate activities if possible.

William Waites of OKFN and several other open-bibliography
participants are LLD members...so hopefully we'll see some good
interplay between the two groups. In particular I think the okfn
effort is better situated to put some of the ideas into practice,
which will provide extremely valuable feedback.

The LLD has a public discussion list [3], and I encourage you all to
subscribe if you have the extra bandwidth.
