Hi everybody,  
It’s great to see that many in this list are people i know or met through our mutual interest in Open Data, but it’s even better to get the chance to meet new people.

My name is Daniel Carranza (LinkedIn (http://www.linkedin.com/in/danielcarranza)) and i’m part of DATA Uruguay (http://datauy.org). I’m a consultant in Digital Media and although I’ll take the responsibility for this, the truth is all of DATA will be joining me in keeping up the info about Uruguay. We’re a team of six with backgrounds in communications, coding and political science, with a bunch of friends who help out often and although DATA is a proper NGO, we’re all voluntaries and keep “day jobs”.

We’re involved in most of what’s happening here in Uruguay around Open Data, Open Government and FOI, and have participated in many OKF initiatives and events. Both representing the organization and personally, I have to say i’m really glad to be here.
