   MESSAGE FROM KARIN

Well, I'll start with the good news. This month donors proved that aid
transparency is possible and real progress could be made by the [2]High
Level Forum on Aid Effectiveness at the end of the year. The World Bank
[3]released their 2010 data to the [4]International Aid Transparency
Initiative (IATI) Registry on Monday, following releases from the [5]Hewlett
Foundation and the [6]UK Department For International Development. In
addition, the African Development Bank have [7]signed up to IATI, and Sweden
   have launched their [8]OpenAid initiative.

The _bad news_ is that too many donors are lagging behind, undermining the
efforts of others. The findings of the [9]EU AidWatch report yesterday and
the [10]IATI implementation schedules released on Monday illustrate the
challenge we now face in making sure _all_ donors fulfil their promises.

We will be launching a public campaign on aid transparency as we embark on
the most crucial six months for aid transparency yet. If you would like to
know more about this, please email Claudia at
