Hi Tim,
Thanks for sharing this notes. A couple things I'd like to add from my side. I actioned myself based on discussion on "evidencing impact" at the end, to start collecting use cases, case studies, stories, anecdotes… anything that could be of use to the broader community, and curate them in a good and reusable way.
Besides, I'm still extremely interested in talking more about Monitoring and Evaluation of Open Data initiatives, which is clearly in its infancy, and sustainability models for those initiatives.
Cheers,
Josema.

Topics covered included: Getting more data -> making the case; Open Data Manuals; Building blocks of Open Data; Open data in developing countries; Getting citizens engaged; Global public data goods; Company data, NGO use of it; Information collaboration & Evidencing impact

Among the future projects planned are a communication campaign on open aid data and to work with migrant in Germany to create "monitoring communities" around development projects.
> • Chris Taggart (http://twitter.com/countculture) OpenCorporates - Want URLs of every company in the world. NGOs can't share information on companies they work with (e.g. in campaining) because they don't have shared identifiers. Open Corporates could be part of solution in helping NGOs tie their data together. http://OpenCorporates.com
> • Simon Parish - Aid Info - Promoting Data Availability and Accessibility of Information; Supporting users to make use of the data; Providing evidence of the impact of open data use: how is it being and changing the world. Thinking about how to develop effective evaluation methodologies for this type of work. Also looking at broader use of 'development resource' data on Gate Foundation funded project.
> • Jay Bhalla - World Bank and Kenya Open Data Initiative - How can we get citizens to use data? We have nice portal - but citizens are not using it. And how can we get NGOs and corporates to understand the use of data.
> • Al Kags - Chairing open data kenya taskforce. Working on how to institutionalise open Kenya. After the launch and first splash you want to make sure there is constant flow of data. Also dealing with changing regime from national to regional finances: how to make sure these also align to an open system from the start. A lot of Kenya's new systems are semi-digital and so there is an opportunity to start the country (and the sub-regions) off as OPEN.

> • Justin Arenstein - pan-African, journalist working with investigative centers in East, West and North Africa, focusing on corruption/social justice/money laundering issues. Interested in getting beyond the hype of open data > Finding out where there is real grassroots engagement & where it is making a tangible difference in real lives. Also interested in aid / charity / development data as mechanism to monitor non-profit sector + to 'liberate' research and raw data held by NGOs.
> • Ruth Del Campo - Working at New York Law School on http://www.openaidregister.org to help people publish their Aid Data as IATI. Interested in possibilities and synergies around.
