Dear all,
The Climate Change and African Political Stability (CCAPS) program at the
University of Texas worked with AidData and the Government of Malawi last
year to geocode all the activities in the government’s Aid Management
Platform <http://www.developmentgateway.org/about/Case-Studies/AMP-Malawi>(the
system for tracking and reporting on aid to Malawi). The resulting
data can be viewed and explored on an interactive
map<http://strausscenter.org/ccaps/mappingtool>that we launched a few
weeks ago.
I wanted to let you know that the full geocoded dataset is also now available
for download<http://blog.aiddata.org/2012/04/where-are-donors-working-in-malawi-new.html>.
This is the first of its kind (activities of 30+ donors mapped across a
single country, so you can really see who is doing what, and where) so we
are pretty excited about it! It’s also the first of the sort envisioned by
the new Open Aid Partnership <http://openaidmap.org/>.
Happy data crunching..
Emily
