Hi Tobias,

just to clarify: while the OKFN develops CKAN (which the
africaopendata site is based on), this is an independent initiative by
the Open Institute out of Kenya. In that sense they are much better
placed to explain their goals - but they will also be busy right now
at the ANIC TechCamp in Zanzibar:
