Hello all,
As you might know, we have been collating ideas for possible funding
proposal(s) on behalf of the Open Development group. At the end of March we
had six proposals:
- *Open Development Fellowships - **
http://okfnpad.org/opendevwg-proposal-fellowships*
- *Open Development Research -
http://okfnpad.org/opendevwg-proposal-research*
- *Develop tools or standards to support development INGOs to open up
their own datasets - http://okfnpad.org/opendevwg-proposal-openINGOdata *
- *Creating an Open Development Toolbox -
http://okfnpad.org/opendevwg-proposal-toolbox*
- *Citizen engagement through mhealth and community focused microtasks -
http://okfnpad.org/opendev-osm-mhealth*
- *Land Coalition Proposal - Building on the networking experience and
outreach capacity of the International Land Coalition and the Land Portal -
http://okfnpad.org/opendevwg-proposal-landcoalition *
Claudia and I spoke last week and propose that the next step is that we
will send all these proposals to members of the community based in the
global south for peer-review and their comments, as an important part of
this processes is ensuring that the proposals respond to identified needs,
and build the global representativeness of this network.
We will aim to get back review comments by early May. If it is clear from
the review comments that there are one or two leading proposals we will
then put these to Matt at IDRC for consideration. If comments indicate that
many of the proposals might still the considered, then we'll set up a
network call to discuss our priorities as a network to put forward for
funding support.
I've added a section for review notes to the bottom of each of the pads
linked above - so if you would like to provide your own notes to
contribute to the review process I would encourage you to do so.
With all best wishes
Tim
