Dear one and all,

As one of the challenge in Open data and Open development still remains
"Going Local" kindly download at
http://followthemoneyng.org/savebagega1.pdf - our three month report which
depicts how data is been used for advocacy in Bagega - a lead poisoned
community in Northern Nigeria, whose 1,500 children needs urgent medical
treatment.

The campaign not only advocate for this aid,it hopes to answer another
question in transparency and accountability - "Tracking government
funds."kindly read my blog - "Open Data and Development: The Freedom of
Information Act in Nigeria" at
http://oluwasomidotun.blogspot.com/2013/01/how-csos-can-help-with-freedom-of.html
to get an insight on "possibilities" of tracking government funds in
Nigeria.

Nevertheless, the team is quite hopeful that informing citizens about aid
meant for them can equip them on decision making, and holding their
leaders accountable, which inturn keeps leaders on their toes in being
more transparent and accountable
