Hi Anders,
Very useful and timely initiative. Govt. of Phillipines has created a Foreign Aid Transparency Hub, an online information portal for international calamity aid and assistance, that will further help adding aid commitments for Yolanda. The link is http://www.gov.ph/crisis-response/updates-typhoon-yolanda/international-assistance/

Hi,
(cross posting from OpenSpending, as this might be of interest to some of
you)
_____
Last week I asked on twitter for initiatives to track aid commitments for
Typhoon Yolanda.
On Friday @philippinebeat <https://hootsuite.com/dashboard#> and @
nashtysmans <https://hootsuite.com/dashboard#> mentioned to this effort to
trace commitments:
https://docs.google.com/a/okfn.org/spreadsheet/ccc?key=0Aphc5ttzSNbjdHhZOVhXZlBTT1V2OWdvNEN2X0pFWkE&usp=drive_web#gid=0
I've created a copy of the googledoc, and added it to OpenSpending:
https://openspending.org/yolanda-aid-monitor/entries<https://openspending.org/yolanda-aid-monitor/views/by-category>
Yesterday the government also launched an initiative to track commitments:
http://www.gov.ph/faith/
It is really promising that we already see civil society and government
tracking this. The development community has also been quick to raise the
discussion on how to avoid another
Haiti<http://www.cgdev.org/blog/lets-not-help-philippines-we-helped-haiti>,
when
it comes to aid transparency.
Can you help track the updates or do you wish to get involved in other
ways? Get in touch here on the OpenSpending list or ping @openspending and
@nashtysmans via twitter.
Best,
Anders
