Greetings Open Colleagues:

More good news from Creative Commons (in addition to
4.0<http://creativecommons.org/weblog/entry/40768>
)!

We are pleased to announce a new suite of Creative Commons
licenses<http://creativecommons.org/licenses/by/3.0/igo/>specifically
designed for intergovernmental
organizations (IGOs)<http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Intergovernmental_organization>
.

CC announcement: http://creativecommons.org/weblog/entry/41061

WIPO's announcement: http://www.wipo.int/pressroom

If you receive inquiries about "why do they need something special?", you
can point folks to these FAQs: http://wiki.creativecommons
.org/Intergovernmental_Organizations#FAQ:_CC_Licenses_and_IGOs

Why does this matter? Because the IGOs (e.g., OECD, UNESCO, WIPO) who
helped build these CC licenses are now thinking about how and when to share
their resources under CC licenses.

Today is a good day for the Commons.

Well done all,

Cable
