Have you checked with the Open Glam people http://openglam.org - @OpenGLAM? as they work with museums they might be a good start point to talk about open arts
Also, you can have a look in twitter to some of the digital humanities projects related with the arts such as http://digitalhumanitiesnow.org - @dhnow
