Webinar: Augmented Reality for science education – Possibilities and Dilemmas

Date and time: 11 May, 2015 at 11:00 - 13:00 CET (10:00 - 12:00 GMT)

The Erasmus+ project “Augmented reality in Science Education” invite science teachers and researchers in the field of science education or ICT and learning to join the webinar “Augmented Reality (AR) for Science Education – Possibilities and  Dilemmas”.

AR holds great promise as a learning tool. But so far, most research has looked at the technology itself, or the technology has been used primarily for commercial purposes. This webinar will address AR technology as an innovative tool to help lower secondary students learn science.  AR offers the potential of facilitating situated learning in ”real world situations”, where powerful augmented content is anchored to reality and delivered via mobile devices, for example. It can support an inquiry-based approach to science education and a high level of student involvement. Furthermore, visualization of complex or invisible processes is also key.
