The Higher Education Commission in the UK is seeking evidence into its inquiry into the role of open data and analytics in higher education.

In a two-stage inquiry, the Commission will investigate the transformative effects of open data, data analytics and new digital technologies for the higher education sector.

This will be a significant agenda setting piece that they hope will shape the debate around the future of higher education and influence policy and practice in the coming years.

The Higher Education Commission is an independent body made up of leaders from the education sector, the business community and the three major political parties. The Commission examines higher education policy, holds evidence-based inquiries, and produces written reports with recommendations for policymakers – it is part of the PolicyConnect network, http://www.policyconnect.org.uk/network

For further details see http://www.policyconnect.org.uk/hec/sites/site_hec/files/hec_-_call_for_evidence.pdf

The deadline is coming soon for evidence collection but this is still ongoing.
