Hi List,

I would like to add yet another hackday to the attention of this list, next to the great initiatives of Eurostat and History Hackday.

Several parties are organizing Wikipedia 10 year anniversary events in the Netherlands next year. On January 14th we will start of with a Wikimedia hackathon and bootcamp. The bootcamp will introduce Cultural Heritage Institutions (CHI)-staff to Wikipedia editing and writing. The wikimedia Hackathon will focus on developing Galleries, Libraries, Archives, Museums (GLAM) tools with a focus on import and stats for the use of CHI media on Wikimedia/Wikipedia. We are aiming to host a small group of developers in our offices in Amsterdam. I believe that having good stats is essential for structural collaboration between CHIs and Wikimedia. Let's hope this event will be one of the many steps toward that goal.
