I warmly invite you all to the next Open GLAM London workshop that will
address the *technical challenges to opening up cultural heritage data.*

The half-day event will take place on the *morning of* *Wednesday 13th June

During the workshop speakers will demonstrate tools for working with open
metadata, discuss standards for opening up metadata and give all
participants an opportunity to discuss the technical challenges they have
faced while trying to make data from their institutions more accessible.

Experts from BibServer <http://bibserver.org/>, CKAN <http://ckan.org/>,
Neontribe <http://www.neontribe.co.uk/> and
Europeana<http://europeana.eu/portal/> will
present and address different technical challenges to opening up metadata
as well as presenting specific tools.

The event will be run in collaboration with
DevCSI<http://devcsi.ukoln.ac.uk/> and
a newly launched EU initiative called DM2E <http://dm2e.eu/> and will be
run in parallel with
BiblioHack<http://blog.okfn.org/2012/05/09/hackathon-alert-bibliohack/>
a
two day hack event for building tools with open bibliographic metadata.
