[OpenGLAM] A paper on Wikidata

Hi everyone,

The newest project to launch via Wikimedia is Wikidata. It's basically the
Wikipedia of data. I'm a fan of it, and active in contributing. I am
primarily interested in how Wikidata can be used within the OpenGLAM world
re: metadata, linked open data, etc. No case studies exist yet to explore,
but...someday, I hope.

A new paper has been published that is an easy read - and in my opinion,
it's delightful because it is not written in "elite speak" - many of us
will be able to digest this without indepth knowledge of metadata and
Wikimedia communities. It explains what Wikidata is and how it is used.

As more GLAMs open up their data, and continue to partner with Wikimedia
through GLAM-Wiki, a number of us in the Wiki community are exploring
opportunities of intertwining Commons, Wikipedia, Wikidata, and so forth
within those partnerships.

Please enjoy and share...
