Dear all,

Forwarding you the email message below on the upcoming Coding Da Vinci
hackathon in Germany - starting next weekend!

Best, Lieke

 Dear colleagues,

last year, Coding da Vinci <http://codingdavinci.de> (the first open
cultural data hackathon in Germany) was an exciting experience for everyone
involved: 150 attendees and 16 cultural heritage institutions from all over
Germany jointly developed apps, visualizations and games based on open
cultural data sets for both the public and the cultural sector itself. Over
325.000 media files have been contributed in total.

This year, the hackathon will for the second time take place in Berlin to
bring together both cultural heritage institutions and the hacker &
designer community to develop ideas and prototypes for the cultural sector
and the public. It'll be structured as a 10-week-challenge running from April
25/26th (start) until July 5th (award ceremony).
All projects will be presented online for everyone to benefit from, and
prizes will be awarded to the best projects at the end of the hackathon in

In 2015 the participating GLAMs have contributed a huge range of data for
