Steven;
Lots of Great citizen created app Examples in Canada. Each are unique and
have different ways of representing how an official voted, reveals what an
official spoke to the media etc. My favorite is Represent Me as it includes
all 3 levels of government in Canada (Federal, Provincial/Territorial,
Municipal), and it includes some demographics.

This one was created for federal election strategic voting purposes, it was
a really useful tool, not just for its intended purpose, but it allowed
people for the first time in Canada to look at their Federal Electoral
Districts, look who is up for elections and compare.

This following is a product from a research centre that maps elections
results and uses sound as a way to reveal the complexity of results - we
call it a political cacophony map

Some community groups produce this type of content to inform citizens on key
demographic issues. These are not apps, and in Canada we have to purchase
Census Data so there are not enough of these at the sub-municipal scale. We
have not seen in Canada a coalescence of Apps developers working with data
subject matters specialists in NGOs. This could be a powerful alliance.
They are very different communities and rarely meet.

Here is the official Elections Canada site:

Each Province and Territory would have official sites like this one:
