Dear open government colleagues

On October 30, as part of the OGP Civil Society
day<http://blog.okfn.org/2013/09/25/register-now-for-the-ogp-summit-and-civil-society-day/>,
we'll be holding a session on one of the most important of the OGP's Five
Grand Goals: Corporate Accountability.

Despite its importance, it rarely figures in government National Action
Plans, and in fact OGP countries perform poorly for access to basic company
information (http://registries.opencorporates.com). In our global corporate
world, where large corporations are made up to sometimes thousands of
individual companies and corporate vehicles are becoming the primary
vehicle for corruption, fraud, stolen assets, money laundering
etc<http://star.worldbank.org/star/publication/puppet-masters>this is
even more critical.

The session will try to bring together the various strands of corporate
accountability (including money flows) and highlight problems, solutions,
and innovative initiatives, large and small. If you'd like to speak at the
session, or think your initiative would be of interest to others, please
drop us a line at ogp at opencorporates.com. We're still working out the exact
structure but would hope to have some lightening talks as well as slightly
longer presentations/sessions.
