I encourage you to visit http://Data.gov<http://data.gov/>.
When you go to <http://data.gov/> Data.gov<http://data.gov/> today, you’ll see something new. A re-imagined site, built transparently and with public participation all along the way.
The focus of the new Data.gov is squarely on the data, getting you more quickly to more data is literally front and center. Topics of interest are easy to find and include updates, highlights, and data on areas ranging from agriculture to weather. Stories of what people are doing with U.S. Government data and suggestions on what new datasets are ripe for innovation are highlighted. Conversations about open data that are happening right now in social media, developer sites, and the news are on each topical page. Want to see what’s already working? Check out more than 200 <http://apps.data.gov/> web and mobile apps<http://apps.data.gov/> using U.S. Government data that provide information to <http://www.afvsafetytraining.com/qrg> first responders<http://www.afvsafetytraining.com/qrg>, to citizens during <http://www.redcross.org/mobile-apps/hurricane-app> disasters<http://www.redcross.org/mobile-apps/hurricane-app>, to <http://wemakeitsafer.com/> online shoppers<http://wemakeitsafer.com/> for safer products, and so much more.
You can follow the development of our open source platform (using CKAN and Word Press) and download your own version at https://github.com/GSA/data.gov. I'd love to get your feedback and ideas on how to continue to improve it.
