[open-government] Open data / open government discussions start in Nigeria

Hi Elena!

That is indeed fortuitous timing. We'd love to have you at the roundtable.
The event will be at the Abuja Hilton, on January 28 & 29. We'll be
co-hosting it with the World Bank. We should have an agenda to share within
the next day or two.

Based on our experiences elsewhere in Africa, we're treating traditional
NGOs as infomediaries rather than end-users. We are therefore aiming for a
mix of the 'usual suspects' + some of the more grassroots-based citizen
organisations / movements, and 'mass mobilisation agents' like the media,
etc. The aim is to listen to citizens' real info / data needs (rather than
priorities set by campaigning orgs), and then calibrate all of our
strategies to answer these needs.

So, any suggestions or pointers that your crew has would be most welcome!

Cheers,
Justin
