A fabulous beginning! One quick thought about usability: it would be nice
if there was an extra indication of highlighted text -> annotation on the
right if when you hovered over either the annotation or the highlighted
text the corresponding color blocks would be emphasized in some way. Maybe
an outline, or change in color brightness, etc. Just a visual cue to assist
the connector lines.
