This is to tell you that if you care for electronic publication the Official Journal of the EU:
http://euwiki.org/APP/2011/0070
you should inform the MEPs in JURI today, or tomorrow morning before 09h00:
http://www.europarl.europa.eu/activities/committees/homeCom.do?language=EN&body=JURI
As far as I know, the Hungarian Presidency is pushing for this dossier to be finalised before they hand over to Poland.
Problems with formats, accessibility, interfaces, archives, standards etc etc should be addressed. I am not sure that discussion has even started.
It should be noted the EP is processing at the same time a draft report on Access to Documents which currently states
37. Reiterates that Parliament should be at the forefront of the proactive approach and
highlights the success of webstreaming of hearings and committee meetings in addition
to plenary sittings, and believes that the Legislative Observatory (OEIL) should be even
further expanded to include all EU official languages and information such as
amendments, opinions from other committees, Legal Service opinions, interinstitutional
letters, names of shadow rapporteurs, a 'search by word' function, multilingual search,
tabling deadlines, RSS feeds, an explanation of the legislative procedure, etc.;

So a natural conclusion would be that both Access to Documents report and the report on electronic publication of the Official Journal of the EU should be considered together (or at least not contradict each other).
MEPs in JURI will have an exchange of views on this tomorrow. Make sure they know what your views are.
Best regards,
//Erik
