Hi everyone,
The NewsReader project will organise a hackathon around the FIFA World Cup in Brazil. During this event, you will have the opportunity to play around with information encoded in RDF that is extracted using NLP technology from >100,000 news articles. The extracted information is linked to various LOD sources, and can be accessed via a triplestore. We are looking for data journalists, hackers, semantic web researchers and visualisation specialists to explore the possibilities of such a dataset. Maybe you can predict what team will have the most injuries, find out who the most corrupt sports manager in football land is or build a cool visualisation around the construction of the stadiums.
For more information and registration, check out: http://www.eventbrite.com/e/kick-off-newsreader-and-hack-100000-world-cup-articles-tickets-2848605255?aff=eivtefrnd
Feel free to distribute this invitation!
Kind regards,
Marieke van Erp
