"Article full text, metadata,
& citations may be crawled
without special permission
or registration"

No, even if the article is free after 12 month, the terms of services of
the publisher's website still apply. The copyright is still there and the
terms of services, so as far as I know, you can't crawl the articles...
officially at least... :-)
