Hi All
You can read the minutes of this meeting here:
https://pad.okfn.org/p/sciencewg-frontiers
Conversation focused on:
- Is a special collection on open science (in life science?) a good
idea? Generally yes
- What should the scope of such a collection be? See pad for list
- Where would be a good place to publish such a collection bearing in
mind:
- most people are not primarily focused on this kind of research
- publishing fees can be a barrier for many
- the topic is broad but the number of interested authors is possibly
small (there are 700+ of you out there on the mailing list but it's a big
commitment to undertake and publish an article)
In general the group was positive about the idea but we have a lot of
questions about the process to put to the Frontiers editors and decided
that exploring other publishing options was a good idea.
If people have ideas about how as a working group we could curate such a
collection then
do chip in!
